Founded in 2018 by visionary Bangladeshi engineer Joy Barua Lablu, Robolife Technologies was established with financial support from the ICT Division of the Government of Bangladesh. Inspired by a personal encounter with an amputee, Joy was motivated to create affordable, accessible, and intelligent robotic prosthetics to empower individuals who have lost their limbs.
At the core of Robolife’s mission lies its flagship innovation — an EMG-based robotic prosthetic hand. Developed using proprietary, low-cost technology, this advanced prosthetic detects muscle signals (EMG) from the user’s remaining limb and translates them into intuitive movements. This enables users to perform essential daily activities such as grasping, writing, or eating — restoring independence, confidence, and quality of life.
Robolife Technologies pioneers affordable, user-centric robotic solutions tailored for real-world applications. The EMG-controlled robotic hand integrates smart sensors and adaptive algorithms, offering precision, comfort, and durability. Our ongoing R&D initiatives include the integration of AI-assisted control systems, 3D printing, and IoT connectivity to enhance user experience and production scalability.
We are committed to education and capacity building. Robolife has trained over 1,000 students and professionals across Bangladesh in robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence. Through our consultancy services, we have collaborated with multiple government agencies, universities, and private organizations to accelerate Bangladesh’s technological advancement in robotics and automation.
As a social enterprise, Robolife Technologies strives to ensure that technological innovation remains inclusive and equitable. We provide scholarships to young learners passionate about robotics and extend financial aid to individuals in need of prosthetic solutions. Our mission is rooted in social good — empowering communities through innovation.
Robolife’s innovations have reached international audiences, with our robotic prosthetic hand demonstrated and showcased in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Malaysia, and India. The company has earned global media coverage and recognition for advancing affordable bionic technology from Bangladesh to the world.
