Robolife Technologies is a Bangladesh-based deep-tech company specializing in assistive robotics and advanced prosthetic technologies. Founded in 2018 by Joy Barua Lablu with project funding and support from the ICT Division, Government of Bangladesh, our mission is to develop affordable, high-quality, and innovative robotic prosthetic solutions that empower people with limb loss to live independent, confident, and dignified lives.
Since 2020, Robolife Technologies has been actively engaged in the research, design, and development of advanced EMG (Electromyography)-based robotic prosthetic hands using in-house EMG technology, embedded systems, electronics, and 3D printing. Our flagship innovation detects muscle signals from the user's residual limb and translates them into natural hand movements, enabling users to perform daily activities such as grasping, writing, eating, and self-care.
We are proud to design, develop, and manufacture nearly 90% of our prosthetic technology in Bangladesh, including our own EMG sensors, allowing us to deliver high-performance robotic prosthetic solutions at a significantly lower cost than imported alternatives while maintaining excellent quality and reliability.
To date, Robolife Technologies has successfully provided 100+ robotic prosthetic hands to upper-limb amputees across Bangladesh, helping restore independence, confidence, and dignity. Beyond product development, we have trained more than 5,000 students through robotics seminars, workshops, and technical training programs, inspiring the next generation of innovators.
In 2024, with the support of the ICT Division, Robolife Technologies provided robotic prosthetic hands free of charge to five individuals who lost their upper limbs during the student movement in Bangladesh. This humanitarian initiative received extensive national and international media coverage, including Voice of America (VOA) and France 24. Our journey and social impact were also featured in a national television commercial produced by Robi Axiata Ltd.
Our technologies have been demonstrated internationally in India, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Malaysia. We are currently establishing our India branch to expand across the South Asian market. In addition, we have held strategic meetings with potential partners and innovation organizations in France and the Netherlands to explore collaborations and prepare for expansion into the European market.
Looking ahead, Robolife Technologies aims to scale the manufacturing of affordable robotic prosthetic solutions, strengthen next-generation prosthetic technologies, expand clinical and institutional partnerships, and build a sustainable global manufacturing ecosystem. Our vision is to position Bangladesh as a global leader in affordable assistive robotics while improving the lives of millions of amputees worldwide.
To develop affordable, innovative, and human-centered robotic prosthetic solutions that restore independence, dignity, and opportunity for every amputee.
To make Bangladesh a global hub for affordable assistive robotics and transform millions of lives through accessible robotic prosthetic technology.
